William Secord and wife to Charles Secord Deed No 11131

Know all men by these Presents that I, William Secord of the parish of Sussex in the County of Kings Farmer and Elizabeth my wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred pounds lawful money of New Brunswick to us in hand well and truly paid by Charles Secord of the Parish and County aforesaid Farmer Have granted bargained and sold and by these presents Do grant bargain and sell unto the said Charles Secord his Heirs and Assigns All that certain piece or parcel of land situate lying and being in the said Parish of Sussex in the said County of Kings & Province of New Brunswick on the East side of the River Kennebeccasis known and distinguished by Lot Number Nine bounded Westerly by lands belonging to one Gilead Secord Northerly by the Course of said River up to the line dividing lot number nine and Ten thence following said line until it strikes land formerly deeded to one Caleb Spragg thence Westerly to lands owned by the aforesaid Gilead Secord to the place of beginning, containing Two hundred acres more or less. To Have and To Hold the said Lot of Land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Charles Secord his heirs and assigns for Ever. And I the said William Secord do for myself my Heirs Executors and Adminstrators Covenant with the said Charles Secord his heirs and assigns that I am seized of the premises as a good indefeasible Estate of Inheritance in fee simple in fee simple in fee simple [sic] free of and from all manner of incumbrances whatsoever Rents dues conditions reservations and services due and reserved to the Queen only excepted and that we have a good right to Sell the same and do hereby relinquish all all [sic] dower right and title of dower unto the said Grantee for Ever in manner and form as above written. In Witness whereof we have hereunto Sett [sic] our hands and affixed our Seals this twenty sixth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and forty nine.

Kings County: Be it remembered that on this twenty sixth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Forty nine before me John H. Ryan Esqr one of Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared the before named William Secord and Elizabeth his wife the Grantors in the within Deed who severally acknowledged that they Executed the within deed for the uses and purposes therein named, and the said Elizabeth wife of the said William Secord having been examined by me separate and apart from her said husband acknowledged that she Executed the said deed freely and voluntarily and without fear or dread of her said husband or of his displeasure.                                                                                                                John H.
