To His Excellency Thomas Carleton Esqr Captain General and Governor in Chief in and over the Province of New Brunswick &c &c &c

The Petition of William Secord Most Humbly Sheweth

That your Excellencys Petitioner hath obtained no Land in the Province Except a Small piece on Long Island and have made a Small improvement on Sprys Grant with an Intention to have taken a Lease but have Lately been informed that the said Grant is Escheated.

Do Humbly Pray that your Excellency will be pleased in Case that the Said grant is Escheated to grant your Petitioner the Proportionable that is Due to him by government where he hath improved which is Near the Lower End of said grant and Your Excellencys Petitioner as in Duty bound will Ever Pray.
