Will
In the Name of God Amen I William Secord late of the Parish of
Greenwich now residen in Springfield being come to a Grate lengh
of days and Known that it is apointed for all men once to die do
make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say,
principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into
the hands of Almighty God the give it and my Body I commend to
the Earth to be Buried in decent Christian Burail at the
discretion of my Executuors Nothing dubtin but at the General
Resurrection I Shall reseve the same again by the Mighty power of
God, and as touching such Worldly Estate werewith it hath pleased
God to bles me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same
in the following manner and form
First I give and Bequeath to the Heirs of my Son William deceased
the Sum of Five Pounds.
Also to my Daughter Rachel the Sum of Five Pounds.
To my Daughter Anne's Heirs the Sum of Six Pounds.
To my Daughter Sarah the Sum of Four Pounds.
To my Daughter Elizabeth the Sum of Four Pounds
To my Daughter Olive the Sum of Ten Pounds
To my Daughter Susan the Sum of Three Pounds
To my Daughter Mary the Sum of Six Pounds
The remainder of my effects is to be divided evenly betwixt my
four Sons. And I constitute make and Ordain my Son James Sole
Executor of this my Last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I
have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this twenty first day of
October in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and
forty three.
