(601) John McCallum to Colin Campbell

I acknowledge to have of this date sold to Colin Campbell Mercht in St. Andrews the lot drawn by me as a soldier in the late 74th Regt. of Foot being lot No two in Block letter C fronting the Scudick Rappids being part of the Indian Lands for which he is to pay fifteen pounds Hal. Cur'y to assign me a lot in this town drawn by John Brown and bought by him, further to give my wife a Bbl of flour if he likes the lot after examining it more minutely; and I hereby oblige myself to execute a proper Deed for my lot when called upon, in the meantime this Obligation to be equally binding - further I Catharine Ferguson wife to John McCallum hereto subscribe my name as a proof of my free concurrence.

Saint Andrews Charlotte County ss. John Campbell of Saint Andrews in the County of Charlotte aforesaid, Merchant, maketh Oath upon the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God, that he was present and saw the within named John McCallum sign seal and as and for his free Act and Deed deliver the Instrument of Writing hereunto annexed, to and for the uses and purposes therein expressed and declared, and that Catharine the wife of the said John McCallum being made acquainted with the Purport of the said Writing at the same time voluntarily subscribed the same in the presence of this Deponent.
